What is Help to Grow: Digital and How it Can Help

Help to Grow: Digital is a UK-wide scheme by the government to help businesses adopt new technologies. Specifically, the scheme aims to help small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) use digital technologies to bounce back following COVID-19 restrictions. That means you could benefit from technologies such as business management solutions to boost business productivity.

How Help to Grow: Digital works

The Help to Grow: Digital scheme offers a free assessment on which technology can help your business via an online platform. Once done, the scheme can provide SMEs one grant token worth up to £5,000. This can be used to cover up to half the costs of pre-approved, digital technology solutions for 12 months (excluding VAT and additional costs).

As part of ‘Wave 1’, covered software includes accounting, customer relationship management (CRM) and e-commerce. More types of technology are expected to be included as the government reviews the scheme for later waves, including business management solutions like Premier Software’s offerings. As only one grant token is provided to each SME across the scheme, it may be worth considering which technology is best for you from the expanded range due throughout 2022.

How to register

To register for the Help to Grow: Digital scheme, you will first need to ensure your business meets a few requirements. Firstly, your SME needs to be registered in the UK at Companies House. Secondly, the business needs to employ between 5 and 249 employees. Finally, the business needs to have been trading for more than 12 months.

Once you have taken the gov.uk software diagnostic to determine the software you need, and registered your interest, you will receive an encrypted grant token. This will be in the form of a URL specific to the technology your business can make use of. This will take you to the software with the tech provider, such as us at Premier Software, ready to finalise the purchase.
