Spa Trends 2023: What New Spa Treatments will Excite Clients?

Spas are ever evolving to match the needs of clients, but have you considered new treatments based on spa trends, 2023? According to SpaSeekers’ new spa trends report 2023, there has been an increase in search results online for various types of spa treatment. We have therefore highlighted five of them worth keeping an eye on and setting up within your spa management system.

Spa Trends 2023 #1: Light therapy facials

Cited in the top 10 top spa trends 2023 is light therapy facials. Growing in searches by 49% compared to previous years, light therapy uses LEDs around the face to stimulate rejuvenation of the skin. More than ever, people are searching for light therapy facials, which can heal sun-damaged skin, or those inflicted with rosacea or dermatitis.

Spa Trends 2023 #2: Sound Baths and Immersive Spa Experiences

Immersive spas topped searches for specific spas, with a 566% increase, in addition to an array of immersive experiences. Amongst the key spa trends 2023 were sound baths, which utilises sound to activate the parasympathetic nervous system to reduce stress and anxiety (as defined by Stylist). These sessions often make use of Tibetan singing bowls, rain sticks, chimes, gongs and tuning forks to bath users in sound.

Spa Trends 2023 #3: Crystal healing massages

Mentioned in our alternative treatments to expand your client base, crystal healing massages are repeatedly in the top searches, up 91% for 2023. Crystal therapy often works by placing gemstones on chakra centres around the body, helping to realign the body’s energy, and assisting with the massage to heal the body. Different crystals can have different associations, such as aventurine helping with mental healing properties, or an amethyst for equilibrium.

Spa Trends 2023 #4: Yoni Steam

A relatively new spa treatment aimed to regulate menstruation and ease period cramps, a Yoni Steam topped spa trends for 2023. This works by exposing the vagina to steam, designed to cleanse it and increase blood circulation for healing, particularly post-childbirth. Searches for this spa treatment were up 124% compared to 2022.

Spa Trends 2023 #5: Gold massage

Gold massages have become hugely popular over the past year, with over 30 million views for the treatment on TikTok alone. Having increased in search volume by 84%, gold massages make use of gold to stimulate the circulation of blood and promote cellular growth of the deepest layer of skin. The end result is to discharge waste from the skin and slows down the signs of aging.
