CHANGES FOR SUMMER
On Monday 14th June, the Prime Minister extended lockdown restrictions until 19st July 2021. This means that Step 4 of the road map’s restrictions have been extended for four weeks longer than originally planned.
The Additional Restrictions Grant (ARG) provides local councils with grant funding to support hotels, spas, salons and other businesses in England. In light of the recent news, the Government is extending the duration to allocate any spending of this grant until 30th July.
There is also a silver lining in that weddings can still go ahead. The number of guests will be restricted only by how many the venue can safely accommodate with social distancing, based on a COVID-19 risk-assessment. That means salon and spa staff will still be able to carry out appointments for weddings, including those for hair or nails without the fear of mass cancellations.
BOOK IN FOR BEAUTY
The British Association of Beauty Therapy and Cosmetology (BABTAC) has launched a campaign to ‘Book in for Beauty’.
Supported by skincare guru Caroline Hirons, the aim of the campaign is to highlight how booking beauty treatments can save jobs and the mental health of all involved. With many people in the UK experiencing anxiety, the campaign highlights the important of positive wellbeing through social interaction such as booking a beauty appointment.
