Mental wellness can be a struggle in your staff’s busy lives, meaning that maintaining it has never been more important. Therefore, Premier Software are focusing on #TheCoreofWellbeing campaign to put you and your staff’s wellbeing first. With this in mind, here are several vital ways to boost mental wellness throughout 2020.
Sleep is vital for improving brain productivity and maintaining wellness. Sleeping eight hours every night helps regulate the chemicals in our brains, reducing the risk of depression and mental health issues. Making sure to avoid bright screens before bed will help avoid over-stimulation to ensure a deeper sleep.
Iron and Vitamin B12 deficiencies cause low moods and impact wellness, meaning it is important to eat a balanced diet. Iron-rich foods are an ideal solution, such as green vegetables and peas, eggs, breakfast cereals, bread and red meat. You and your staff can balance these with natural alternatives to sugary snacks (fruit and yoghurt) and nuts high in Omega 3 to maintain a healthy mind.
Exposing skin to sunlight produces Vitamin D and ‘serotonin’ – a chemical our body releases to improve mental wellness. Vitamin D is vital for staving away Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), which induces a low feeling of worth and depression. Natural lighting, special light-therapy lamps and Vitamin D3 are all useful to keep mentally prepared for the days ahead.
Exercise is essential for positive mental health. Something as simple as walking for half an hour can boost chemical activity in the brain and give a sense of achievement. Running and cardio exercise are not only great at reducing fat but can be spent with friends for social interaction or even competitive goals!
Face masks are an excellent way to feel refreshed with ingredients such as vitamin C and E to boost wellness, in addition to moisturising the skin. Face masks are also a wonderful way to take time for yourself whilst taking care of your clients, helping rest your mind from any worries.
We have teamed up with luxury skincare brand, Temple Spa, to launch #TheCoreOfWellbeing 2020. Throughout the year, Core by Premier Software® account managers will be hand-delivering a dual-branded version of skincare mask The Contourist.* Using these masks, your staff will be able to take a moment to themselves whilst taking care of your clients, too.
