How to encourage client reviews and why they’re important

A recent survey from the ‘Local Consumer Review’ revealed that 86 per cent of consumers read reviews for local businesses. That means it’s important to encourage reviews from your clients in order to build brand reputation, particularly during COVID-19 for when you reopen. With this in mind, we have several vital ways to help you do this…

Using salonspy

An important tool to encourage and collate client reviews is salonspy. This online review platform integrates with Premier Software systems to automatically send clients an SMS to review your services. Importantly, the review form includes a new hygiene question to ensure clients feel safe during appointments. You can then showcase these reviews online to reassure prospective clients.

Finding clients who have recently visited

Reviews rely on clients who have had a recent experience with you. Through using marketing filters in your Premier Software system, you can identify who has recently visited. If clients have opted-in to receive communication from yourselves, you can then send them an email or SMS to request a review of their received service.

Through social media

Social media makes for a useful way of encouraging reviews through non-traditional methods. For example, competitions involving clients sharing pictures of their treatment or tagging you in videos while using your retail will create indirect exposure for your business. You can still encourage clients to leave a user review on Facebook though, should you opt for a more direct approach.

Promote reviews

Promoting your reviews and salonspy rating will not only spread the word about your business, but also encourage others to review your services. Your website is an excellent place to do this, as new and existing clients will make your website the first port of call before they decide to book. It is also worth sharing any feedback on social channels, providing those clients have given consent.
