Coronavirus: How to reopen your business effectively (Part 1)

Planning to successfully reopen your business after lockdown requires a careful strategy and forward planning. It’s important clients swiftly return to your business post-pandemic, but the question is how to effectively do this using your business software? We reveal the first of several answers below.

Update your guidelines

Clients will want to feel as safe as possible, so update your business guidelines for when you reopen! These include any new hygiene procedures you may have, including clients needing to arrive for a set time to maintain social distancing, or even precautions needed for therapists and clients alike. Make sure any updated guidelines are easily accessible on your website and sent to clients before arrival.

Regular emails or SMS

Engaging with your clients is vital, keeping you at the forefront of their mind for when you reopen. The easiest way to do this is to update them with service emails or SMS. These updates can be about the new guidelines discussed above, or simply build anticipation for your grand reopening. Even contact such as marketing rewards or special packages for returning clients will keep you in mind.

Registering online

To keep clients updated for when you do reopen, make sure they register with you online. This should be a requirement before any bookings are made through your website. You can then send any further details in a confirmation email, such as a request for any medical details you may need or a reminder of their responsibilities, setting clear client expectations.

Electronic questionnaires

Reopen your business as one that is ready for clients with any underlying health conditions. A decent business management system will be able to help, using data from any recent electronic medical questionnaires to alert your staff. Make sure your client data is up to date by sending an online questionnaire for them to fill in before arrival, or on a sanitised consultation tablet when they visit.
