How to expand your spa offerings for winter

Winter is a demanding time of year where clients’ changing needs mean expanding your spa offerings. With the end of the year fast approaching, spas and wellness centres are highly sought-after to unwind, providing you offer the right services. Pre-treatment questionnaires

What do your clients want from your spa over winter? Pre-treatment questionnaires help get to the root of what clients want, meaning you can craft a bespoke experience. This could be something as simple as tailoring your treatment or package to clients’ specific aches and pains, making it feel like you’re there for their every need.

Additional skin treatments

The harsh, moisture-drying temperatures of winter means clients will seek remedies for their skin. Offer a wider range of facials and moisturising treatments for skin during the winter period and you will attract the interest of clients. Body scrubs and exfoliating masks make for great classics, but remember to offer alternatives such as nutrient-rich algae body wraps or fire and ice steam rooms.

Extend opening hours

The increase in activity could result in your spa becoming fully booked over winter. But what happens to those clients unable to book during standard opening hours? Temporarily extending your opening hours is an excellent way to accommodate for this, fitting around the needs of your busy clients’ lives and maximising profit.

Set-up waiting lists

Winter is often a hectic period in which clients can cancel bookings with short notice. To combat this potential scenario, why not create a client waiting list? Through setting up waiting lists in your system, you ensure vacated slots are filled by interested clients to avoid any lost revenue.

Promote massages

Massages will be popular during winter, so it makes absolute sense to promote them more often. Clients will be seeking whole-body massages to relax tension built in the run-up to Christmas, or the use of oils to soothe them for the deeper slumbers needed from winter’s lack of sunlight. Ensure you acquire the lavender and peppermint oils you need and promote your massages regularly on social media or email.
